First-World Problems

First-World Problems

I want to acknowledge the gap in my posts. First, my day job was very intense all Summer. What was hoped to be a lighter workload over the summer, after a couple of years of a hard-court press through the pandemic, the resignation of four people from our team in the late Spring changed things pretty quick. The extra responsibilities spiraled into a whirlwind of deadlines. Needless to say my stress level whipped up, while I kept juggling my life’s activities, and stayed vigilant not to nose dive into burnout.

Then when the pressure was finally off, and I was headed into a few days of vacation I got what I thought was a cold. A moment after adding nasal droplets to a home test kit it was clear I actually had COVID. What a nasty experience that was. Although it was such a blessing to get the virus at this stage in the pandemic. I was fortunate to meet the basic health requirements to take Paxlovid. That knocked the virus out of my system, but I still had to deal with feeling tired and needing to rest more than usual. My prayers for all those who suffered through the disease without access to any treatment.

During the past month, I definitely got off my regular routine - the daily activities that keep me balanced and whole. It has been challenging to get myself back into that groove but I’m being persistent, as well as reflective to where and why I might be holding myself back. For all the challenges they are definitely first-world problems. My life is a blessing and pray that my deeds share those blessings with others for the best and highest good of All Life.
