Feeling the Rain or Getting Wet

Feeling the Rain or Getting Wet

Some people feel the rain, others just get wet.
— Bob Marley

The other day after reflecting on how I talk about my day job I decided it was time to change the story I’ve been telling. The story I was telling up until that moment was one of feeling defeated. Even though I was trying to be accountable for my decisions it was still a victim story, and it didn’t leave me feeling good. So I decided if I can’t say anything positive about my day job, then it’s better for me to remain silent.

I told my new coach about my decision. She had me tell her how I got started in my current job. After listening to me she said that I have a lot to be proud of, to remember how and why I got started in my current career. She reminded me that the decision I made years ago to go back to school and start a career is what lead me to this moment. To know it takes courage to change paths, and I have that courage to make a change. So not to question now if I have what it takes to make a change in the way I am making a living.
